Export credit insurance covers commercial and political risk in connection with payment obligations in export transactions.

The availability of credit insurance from commercial insurers to Norwegian exporters has been restored to same level as before the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic. The temporary reinsurance scheme for credit insurance at GIEK therefore expired on 30 June 2021.

Credit Insurance from Eksfin is a supplement to insurance from commercial insurance companies, according to guidelines from the Efta Surveillance Authority, ESA.
