The company has an export rate of almost 100 percent, and is an excellent example of a Norwegian business that is creating local value in foreign markets. Three out of 10 windmill blades manufactured and installed in Europe are made of fibreglass delivered by 3B Fibreglass. The company also manufactures fibreglass for sale and further processing into products for the transport and automobile industries. “I wish to congratulate 3B Fibreglass on the Export Award. The company’s factory has a long and proud history in Birkeland and the inner Agder region. It is a cornerstone company in its local community, and with the aid of its skilled staff has successfully completed a vital restructuring through the development of new products. Its growing market share and increased exports and profits make 3B Fibreglass a worthy winner,” says jury chair John G. Bernander.

High export percentage

Over the past 10 years, 3B Fibreglass has completed an aggressive, focused product innovation programme with the aim of consolidating its market position through sustainable and energy-efficient production processes. The company is now one of Norway’s ten largest green-technology exporters, and is already a good example of tomorrow’s sustainable industry.
