The event will cover the main challenges we face today when financing green projects. How do public and private financiers share risk? in which sectors are financiers successful in allocating capital today, and where do they encounter bottlenecks? And what are the policy recommendations to the governments present at COP28?

Leading practitioners will be discussing the role of investors, banks and government financing, as well as the relative importance of geopolitical and macroeconomic trends in securing capital for renewable energy, alternative fuels or carbon capture.

Terje Pilskog (1971) was named CEO of Scatec in 2022, after serving as EVP Project Development since 2013. He was previously SVP of REC Systems and Business Development in Germany. Prior to REC, he was Associated Partner at the management consulting company McKinsey & Co. Pilskog holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from BI Norwegian Business School.

Yngve Slyngstad is the Managing Director of Industry Capital Partners (ICP), which he established with the Norwegian industrial investment company Aker ASA. Prior to founding ICP, Yngve served for 13 years as CEO of Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), the asset manager of the Government Pension Fund Global of Norway.

Tone Lunde Bakker is CEO of Export Finance Norway (Eksfin), the official export credit agency (ECA) of the Norwegian Government. Eksfin has NOK 185 billion (EUR 18,5 billion) in total exposure limits and AAA credit rating. Previously, Ms. Lunde Bakker held several executive positions in major Nordic banks, most recently as CEO at Swedbank Norway.

Christian Rynning-Tønnesen came to Statkraft from the position as CEO in Norske Skog (2006 – 2010), and CFO in Norske Skog (2005 – 2006). He came to Norske Skog from a variety of different leadership positions in Statkraft between 1992 and 2005. Earlier he was a consultant and energy specialist in McKinsey Norge 1989 – 1992, refinery analyst and product coordinator in Esso Norge 1985 – 1989 and researcher at SINTEF 1984 – 1985.

Helmy Ghazi is Deputy CEO & Head of Global Banking, based in Cairo. He is responsible for leading the Bank’s coverage of its biggest corporate, financial and government clients in Egypt. Helmy has over 25 years of experience in corporate and investment banking, with a significant focus around the energy, infrastructure and general industrials sectors.
