The ship was built at the Vard Langsten yard for Canadian Subsea Shipping Company AS, a subsidiary of DOF Subsea AS. The construction contract was signed on 9 November 2015, with delivery of Skandi Vinland taking place just 19 months later. It will operate on the east coast of Canada. Export Credit Norway has provided export financing of CAD 68 million for the ship, guaranteed by GIEK (70%) and ABN Amro (30%). “Skandi Vinland is a cutting-edge offshore vessel, and very well suited to this type of operation. We are pleased to be able to support stakeholders with long-term ship financing,” says Olav Einar Rygg, Export Credit Norway’s Director of Lending – Ocean Industries.
