“Winning the Export Award was fantastic, and gave us a lot of PR coverage in Norway. We are also making active use of the award in our international marketing work,” says CEO Øyvind Birkenes.
Airthings currently has 40 employees, and offices in Norway, the USA and Canada. It aims to leverage its world-leading position in the radon detection market into a world-leading position in the market for indoor air quality monitoring.
Winning raised the company’s profile significantly Øyvind Birkenes, Airthings“We are a small company with big plans. That is why winning the Export Award is important for us,” says Birkenes. He continues, “Winning raised the company’s profile significantly and, not least, put air pollution on the agenda. The Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority estimates that 300 persons die of radon exposure in Norway every year. Some of these deaths could probably be avoided through better monitoring and follow-up.” Airthings won the Export Award 2018. Photo: Stian Frøysang
